Pop Quiz
Rather than writing an essay or thought piece on the topic, i thought i would pose some questions to anyone who happens to read my blog. These are questions that i ask myself but a more powerful answer lies in what a group of people think.
Do you think there were anti-UK terrorist cells generated here, as opposed to migrated, before 9-11?
What do you like or dislike most about the phrase "war on terror"?
Can you distinguish between the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Do you think Iran is attempting to generate nuclear weapons rather than solely nuclear fuel?
If you live in London, are there still times when you study with anxiety the bearing of a fellow transport dweller who appears Arab/Middle Eastern?
Will this "war on terror" conflict dissolve in our lifetime (ie the next 50 years)? and why?
What would happen if Western troops pulled out of Iraq?
Is there a secret global hegemonial society consisting of the top world leaders which has as its agenda a neo-imperialist resource domination at the expense of other cultures (i.e. conspiracy theory?)
I hope one of these questions interests you enough to comment.

Do you think there were anti-UK terrorist cells generated here, as opposed to migrated, before 9-11? Yes, for sure. If not active, then awaiting a chance, or a reason, or a call to become active.
What do you like or dislike most about the phrase "war on terror"? The same thing I dislike about hitting children when they’re naughty. Violence begets violence, although I’m not sure what alternative I’d prefer. Maybe “stampdown” on terror.
Can you distinguish between the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq? Not by reading the popular press, that’s for sure.
Do you think Iran is attempting to generate nuclear weapons rather than solely nuclear fuel? Well, Hols, if only I/we knew the answer to that one. If I had to guess, I’d say that they would do if they had the means, the opportunity, and the motive. Better make that a yes, then.
If you live in London, are there still times when you study with anxiety the bearing of a fellow transport dweller who appears Arab/Middle Eastern? No, never. Or, at least, no more than I do a non-Middle Eastern.
Will this "war on terror" conflict dissolve in our lifetime (ie the next 50 years)? and why? If it doesn’t, our lifetime may well be relatively short. Actually, I don’t think that world politics, as we know it today, is sustainable for pour species at large.
What would happen if Western troops pulled out of Iraq? Less Western troops would die. But I don’t know that it’s a feasible option now, as it would be a bit like leaving the middle east after the establishment of the State of Israel. Oh, hang on… we did.
Is there a secret global hegemonial society consisting of the top world leaders which has as its agenda a neo-imperialist resource domination at the expense of other cultures (i.e. conspiracy theory?) What - like the the US?! And we musn't forget B Liar, of course, acting as wingman, must we?
Do you think there were anti-UK terrorist cells generated here, as opposed to migrated, before 9-11?
Anti-UK groups yes but not until 9-11 did they have notions of commmitting violent acts.
What do you like or dislike most about the phrase "war on terror"?
Propaganda to justify the expenditure on more arms and more military training.
Can you distinguish between the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq?
Yes.
Do you think Iran is attempting to generate nuclear weapons rather than solely nuclear fuel?
Yes much like Noth Korea and Pakistan they wish to be taken seriously and unforunately feel that possessing such weapons will make them more important. The possibility that they have another Chernobyl never occurs to these countries. If the weapons were to cause a nuclear disaster where would the aid come from? Would America and the UK be forthcoming?
If you live in London, are there still times when you study with anxiety the bearing of a fellow transport dweller who appears Arab/Middle Eastern?
The media has conditioned many people to be reminded of that 7/7 and the description of the bombers that one cannot help be reminded of the events on noticing a transport dweller with a rucksack etc.
Will this "war on terror" conflict dissolve in our lifetime (ie the next 50 years)? and why?
No because it is human nature to create and design in equal measure and two world wars and atom bombs have not deterred wars.
What would happen if Western troops pulled out of Iraq?
They would ask for aid from Western countries and either start rebuilding a bright new future or repeat the whole process over...theere's the difficulty.
Is there a secret global hegemonial society consisting of the top world leaders which has as its agenda a neo-imperialist resource domination at the expense of other cultures (i.e. conspiracy theory?)
Its not even secret they are quite blatant. They need to sustain their budgets in developing their own arms and with each new gun created the old gets sold at discount price to smaller nations to fund the development of the new. The top five arms supplying nations are U.S., Russia, France, Germany and the U.K.

And what about you Holly? What are your answers to the questions?
War on Terror- i dislike the phrase because it simplifies a complex issue. I think that phrase promotes a black and white paradigm. If this continues to explained in over simplified terms, then we overlook possible avenues to peace.
Terrorist cells here before 9-11? well, i don't know, but hate has never not existed.
I can distinguish between the Iraq and Afghanistan stories, but only because i went out and read some books on my own.
I do think it is Iran's goal to become a nuclear power.
This time last year, i was definitely twitchy and found myself racial profiling. Now i do not; i just try to be watchful no matter what, in general terms of personal safety. London is a dangerous city. This is why i take kung fu. i can now kick someone's ass with a chop....
The issue will disolve eventually; but not whilst i live, even if to a beyond averege octogenerian. I mean even the 100 years war lasted, well, around 100 years....
Global consipracy? what, western countries pillaging the natural rescources of poor and immature countries to feed the former's growth at a cheaper rate? three words. hal-lib-urton.
